Kosovo and North Macedonia have inaugurated the joint border crossing point "Hani i Elezit - Bllacë". Leaders of both countries stated that from now on, citizens will only be checked upon entering the host country, and that the "One Stop Shop" joint border crossing model will enable faster movement and better cooperation.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that just last year, over five million citizens crossed through the three border points between Kosovo and North Macedonia, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Izet Mexhiti, declared that today marks the beginning of a new chapter in cooperation.

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, also emphasized the importance of the joint border crossing point.

According to Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, the joint border crossing is an important step for both countries and will facilitate easier circulation.

Meanwhile, North Macedonia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Panche Toshkovski, highlighted that the joint border crossing will impact trade development.

This joint crossing point is one of two joint border crossing points envisioned under the Implementation Protocol of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia on the joint border crossing points Hani i Elezit – Bllacë and Glloboçica – Jazhincë, signed in November 2024 during the joint meeting of the two governments.
