At the Delphi Economic Forum X, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgis emphasized the importance of integrating regional perspectives into national policy planning. He noted that the way this integration is handled will influence how resources are divided between cohesion and competitiveness in the coming years, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Linking the discussion to Europe's push for strategic autonomy in energy and defense, Kontogeorgis highlighted key priorities for Greece under the new multi-annual financial framework. These include infrastructure, water management, the climate crisis, demographic challenges, border control, and the labour market.

He also underlined the government's goal to ensure fair regional development, acknowledging persistent inequalities between areas. "Planning must be done in cooperation with the regions, not solely from Athens," he said, stressing the need to tailor development strategies by working closely with local governments and stakeholders.
