On March 25, Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias emphasized the importance of strength in defending national sovereignty during the national anniversary celebration. He stated that "strong Armed Forces" are essential, noting that the current geopolitical climate underscores this need, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Dendias reminded the public that the independence Greece enjoys today is the result of ongoing effort and sacrifice, stressing that "nothing is self-evident." He acknowledged that Greece faces complex challenges, ranging from traditional military conflicts to hybrid threats, requiring a new strategic approach and advanced military capabilities.

As part of the "Agenda 2030," Greece is undergoing its largest military reform in modern history, enhancing operational capabilities, modernizing equipment, and investing in new technologies. Dendias reaffirmed Greece's commitment to a deterrent strategy based on international law and peaceful coexistence.

"Today is not just a day of remembrance, but a day of responsibility," he concluded, calling for unity and determination in honoring the nation's history and ensuring its future security.
