Transport and Infrastructure Minister Sorin Grindeanu has emphasized the strategic role of Romania's Port of Constanta in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Grindeanu stated that transforming the port into a major logistics hub is a key objective, CE Report quotes Agerpres

"Ukraine's reconstruction cannot happen without the United States. I believe the U.S. also has an interest in fostering a favorable environment in the Port of Constanta," Grindeanu said, highlighting recent anti-corruption actions at the seaport as a signal of Romania’s commitment to maintaining a stable investment climate.

He also underscored Romania’s strategic position, noting it has the longest EU border with Ukraine. Infrastructure projects, including developments in Moldavia and the A7 highway extending to Ukraine, are progressing well, further strengthening Romania’s role in the region.

Additionally, Grindeanu pointed to the U.S. military base at Mihail Kogalniceanu in Constanta County as another key asset in positioning the port as a logistics hub for reconstruction efforts.
