Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged global unity and justice while addressing escalating conflicts and the rebuilding of war-torn Syria during the 11th D-8 Summit in Cairo on Thursday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

"Institutions responsible for ensuring global security and stability are not fulfilling their duties amidst increasing conflicts and crises," Erdogan said, highlighting the challenges facing the international community.

He emphasized stronger international collaboration and praised recent developments within the D-8 organization, including Egypt’s approval of a preferential trade agreement, which he said would expand economic ties among member states.

Erdogan also advocated for the inclusion of less-developed nations in global initiatives, citing Turkey’s TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest aviation and space festival, as a platform to foster technological advancement across borders.

Welcoming Azerbaijan's membership in the D-8, Erdogan called it a major step in strengthening the organization.

On Syria, Erdogan urged solidarity in rebuilding the country after 13 years of civil war. "The people of Syria need unity and help to reconstruct their nation. Our goal is a Syria free from terrorism, where all groups can live together in peace," he stated.

Erdogan’s speech underscored Turkey's commitment to fostering peace, economic development, and international cooperation.
