PresidentialElection2024/Lasconi says Romania's election influence operations copycat Moldovan, Georgian manipulation pattern

Presidential contender and leader of the Save Romania Union (USR) Elena Lasconi said on Tuesday that similar things as in Romania's election campaign happened during the Republic of Moldova and Georgia's pre-vote process, adding that she has no evidence to that effect, but it should have been the task of the Romanian Intelligence Service to get alerted on these issues, CE Report quotes Agerpres

"It's just an opinion, although it's obvious that things are happening that copycat Republic of Moldova and Georgia patterns. Again I will be asked: 'But what evidence do you have?' Let the state institutions tell us if they have evidence and do their job. (...) The SRI should have had signals that this is happening, because we are not toying around. I just don't know why we don't have information from them. And why does Elena Lasconi have to provide the SRI with information? (...) First of all, they should have a civilian leadership, and they haven't had a full-authority management for so long," Lasconi told a press conference at the USR headquarters.
