Migration and Asylum Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos spoke of increased migration flows in 2024 in comparison with 2023 noting however, that despite the increase the country's structures currently present an occupancy rate that marginally exceeds 50% in an interview on Saturday with Athens Macedonian News Agency.
The minister also noted that the flare-up in the Middle East is likely to create even greater pressures and this is a possibility for which the authorities are preparing, but "so far this is not reflected in practice". CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
