PM Mitsotakis to New Democracy party officials: Focus on Europarliamentary elections

The 41% of votes ruling New Democracy (ND) received in national elections this summer does not amount to a blank check from voters but to increased responsibility toward them, Prime Minister and ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis told a meeting of the party's Political Committee on Monday evening. Mitsotakis also expressed his determination to forge ahead with reforms, underlining that "we will not hesitate to assume the cost." The government must identify and uproot the causes of challenges it faced in its first term, including the migration issue and price and energy hikes, and focus on improving the daily lives of the Greek people, he added.
