Greece's accession to the European community 42 years ago was "its greatest decision in post-junta history," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesday at an event for Europe Day 2023 and the launch of the European Year of Skills at the Athens Conservatory. Cereport reports citing Athens-Macedonian

On May 28, 1980 Greece managed to become accepted by the European communities through the efforts of Constantine Karamanlis, former prime minister and president of Greece and founder of New Democracy, "which continues its firm commitment to Europe beyond party lines," Mitsotakis said.
