Duda Urges Voter Turnout
Polish President Andrzej Duda, nearing the end of his final term, called on citizens to vote in the upcoming presidential election, calling it an "extremely important decision" for the nation's future, CE Report quotes PAP
In a Friday post on X, Duda emphasized the president’s role as a “guardian of sovereignty and security,” and urged Poles to participate fully, noting that high turnout would strengthen the next leader’s democratic mandate.
The first round of voting takes place Sunday, May 18, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., with thirteen candidates in the race. Centrist Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski leads the polls, followed by right-wing candidate Karol Nawrocki and far-right Slawomir Mentzen.
