Recean Visits Orhei-Vit at 80th Anniversary

Moldova

Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited the Orhei-based factory of Orhei-Vit, Moldova’s largest fruit and vegetable processing company, as it celebrated 80 years of operation, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Recean praised the company's over 1,000 employees for establishing Orhei-Vit as a national leader in juice production and the country’s largest exporter. He highlighted their resilience, continuous investment, and key role in Moldova’s economy.

During his visit, Recean toured the facilities and was briefed on the company's production capacity, challenges, and recent improvements. In the past year, Orhei-Vit invested €1 million in water filtration, equipment upgrades, and energy efficiency—cutting energy costs by 30%. The company also emphasized the need to secure more raw materials, including through international partnerships.

Orhei-Vit processes up to 100 million kg of raw materials per season, producing over 200 products such as juices, nectars, purees, and preserves. It exports 80% of its output to 38 countries, including the UK, Germany, India, and the USA.

The company operates three production units in Orhei, Briceni, and Căușeni and employs residents from 22 villages across the region.
