Moldova

Today, MPs, officials, and parliamentary leadership took part in the national afforestation campaign, Generation of the Forest, by planting acacia saplings in Nisporeni district, CE Report quotes MOLPDRES

According to the Parliament’s Communication and Public Relations Department, the initiative is part of the National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation, which aims to plant and restore 145,000 hectares of forest by 2032.

"Let’s support our foresters and join the campaign launched by the Ministry of the Environment. Expanding forested areas is crucial for environmental protection. Those unable to participate today can still do so throughout March," said Speaker Igor Grosu.

The campaign covers over 120 locations nationwide, with plans to plant at least 7,000 hectares of forest by the end of 2025. This effort aims to improve air quality, prevent soil erosion, and combat climate change.
