Moldova Honors Top Students and Teachers at Olympic Gala

The best students of Moldova, who earned medals at international, European, and Balkan Olympiads, were celebrated today at the Olympic Gala in Chisinau. Teachers who trained the national Olympic teams were also recognized during the event, held at the Palace of the Republic, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Thirty-nine students and 42 teachers received Diplomas of Excellence, with around 400 educators, jurors, and students in attendance.

Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun praised the students, calling their achievements “proof that excellence can be achieved even in the most difficult circumstances.” He described them as role models for their peers and society. Valentina Chicu, an adviser to Moldova’s president, also commended their determination and effort, emphasizing that the medals symbolize success and hard work.

In 2024, Moldovan students participated in 16 international Olympiads and contests across countries like the USA, the UK, Turkey, and Romania. Winners received diplomas, monetary prizes, and awards sponsored by the Electronic Governance Agency and the Future Technologies Activity Project, funded by USAID, Sweden, and the UK.
