The Chisinau city today marks the Dedication Day – a day when the old-style Orthodox Christians celebrate the Holy Protection of the Mother of God, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The Chisinau city this year marks 588 years since its first documentary mention. The first documentary mention of the city as settlements dates back from 17 July 1436 (Chisinau of Acbas). The second documentary mention, in chronological order, dates back from 1466, in a document on ownership issued by Ruler Stephen the Great.
