Former hospital worker tried to sell sensitive records of Kate Middleton
The UK data protection authority announced that an employee at the private hospital where the Princess of Wales, Kate, underwent surgery in 2024 attempted to sell “highly sensitive personal information,” which is believed to be her medical record.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) launched an investigation in March of that year into whether staff at the clinic tried to access the medical records of the wife of the heir to the throne, who had undergone abdominal surgery two months earlier, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
In its statement, the ICO said it had completed its criminal investigation and found that a former healthcare worker had engaged in the “deliberate misuse” of sensitive information and had offered to disclose it in exchange for payment.
