“SuperGulp!” creator dies at 93

Modena-born artist Guido De Maria, a designer, advertising executive, director, humorist and screenwriter, has died at the age of 93.

A longtime friend of singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini, who died in recent weeks, De Maria was closely associated with the television program dedicated to comics, “Gulp, fumetti in TV,” later renamed “SuperGulp!”.

He also created the character Nick Carter and many other famous illustrated figures, CE Report quotes ANSA.

De Maria was originally from Lama Mocogno in the Modena Apennines, but lived mainly in Bologna for professional reasons.
