Actor Keanu Reeves stars in the dark comedy Outcome as a Hollywood movie star whose carefully crafted public image begins to fall apart when he is blackmailed with a mysterious video that threatens his career, Reuters reports.

Keanu Reeves plays Reef Hawk, a beloved film star who turns to his close circle — including lifelong friends Kyle and Xander, portrayed by Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer, and his lawyer Ira, played by Jonah Hill — to limit the consequences of the crisis.

Jonah Hill also directed and co-wrote the film alongside Ezra Woods, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

As tension rises, Reef embarks on an unconventional apology tour, visiting people he believes he may have wronged in the past, hoping to uncover the identity of the blackmailer.

Jonah Hill balances intense humor with emotional reflection, using the premise to explore themes of responsibility and authenticity in an era shaped by public scrutiny over celebrities. Keanu Reeves said working with Jonah Hill on this Apple TV+ production brought a special energy to the set.

“Energy, vibe, creative delight,” the Hollywood star said.

Cameron Diaz noted that the film examines what truly gives an apology meaning.

“It’s really about the person receiving it. Whether it matters or not — that depends on their experience,” the American actress said.

Matt Bomer revealed he connected with the film’s focus on friendship.

“It made me understand the value of deep friendships that transcend public perception,” he said, adding that the set encouraged creative freedom.

Laverne Cox, who plays a member of Reef’s crisis management team, said the film raises important questions about accountability, highlighting a line delivered by Martin Scorsese in the trailer: “What are you sorry for?”

The film Outcome will have its global premiere on Apple TV+ on April 10.
