Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man in new Marvel film
Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man in the first trailer for the new Disney and Sony film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, which will hit theaters at the end of July. This is the fourth solo Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Holland’s seventh appearance in the franchise.
Brand New Day marks Holland’s return as the wall-crawler since Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed over $1.9 billion and brought Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield into the MCU.
The film updates Spider-Man’s status and gives Holland a new costume closer to the comics, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Following the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker sacrifices himself to save New York and the multiverse from Doctor Strange’s magic, accepting that everyone—including MJ and his best friend Ned—will forget his identity. Alone and mourning the death of Aunt May, Peter dons a new red-and-blue suit and returns to save the city.
The film also features familiar and new Marvel characters: Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, and the return of Michael Mando as Scorpion. New cast members include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Marvin Jones II as the gangster Tombstone.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day promises a new chapter for Spider-Man in the MCU, combining action, emotion, and connections to previous films in the series.
