Rural Moldovan houses featured in parliament art exhibition
Houses from Moldovan villages, captured in different seasons and harmoniously integrated into the rural landscape, come to life in a painting exhibition hosted by Parliament. The 15 works on display highlight the beauty of traditional architecture and the artistic sensitivity of young creators from the “Eugen Doga” School of Arts in the town of Strășeni, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
The exhibition brings together paintings that illustrate representative elements of folk architecture: houses with reed or tile roofs, porches decorated with traditional carpets, well-kept courtyards, gardens with fruit trees and flowers, as well as other decorative details specific to Moldovan villages. Some works depict the atmosphere of villages on winter evenings, with snow-covered houses, frost-patterned windows and chimneys releasing smoke, suggesting the warmth and intimacy of rural life.
The artworks were created by students aged between 11 and 17 who took part in the painting workshop titled “The Blue House”. During the creative process, the young artists used age-appropriate techniques, working in oil and acrylic, under the guidance of painter Galina Vieru.
Known for her use of the “eternal blue” shade, Galina Vieru guided the students in color combinations, the rendering of volume and light in their compositions. She is a member of the Union of Plastic Artists of the Republic of Moldova and a laureate of numerous national and international awards for her contribution to the promotion of culture and the arts.
The “Blue House” workshop was held within the National Programme “Access to Culture 2025”, financed by the Ministry of Culture. The exhibition will be open to the public at Parliament until the end of February, and interested visitors can schedule a visit via the website www.vizite.parlament.md.
