Charli XCX reflects on 17-year career in Sundance premiere
Charli XCX plays herself in The Moment, a satirical drama that chronicles the completion of her successful album Brat Summer and her struggle to manage a success of global proportions.
“I was particularly interested in telling a story around the concept of expectations,” Charli XCX told the AP, one day after the film’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
The pop star from Essex has already spent 17 years in the music industry, following a path she describes as far from conventional, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
Her career peaked in 2024 with the release of her sixth album, Brat, which evolved into a social and cultural phenomenon.
As she explained, she felt completely understood by her audience—a feeling that, however, proved to be fleeting.
