Paris Hilton reveals her serious side in new documentary

Paris Hilton is known for her self-assumed diva role in public life, for her modeling career, appearances in reality shows, and occasionally as an actress. However, through her new biographical documentary “Infinite Icon,” she wants to highlight lesser-known sides of herself, such as her roles as an activist and a musician, Reuters reported on Monday.

The documentary film “Infinite Icon: A Virtual Memoir” will be released in theaters on January 30 and follows Paris Hilton during the period when she recorded her 2024 electro-pop album “Infinite Icon,” as well as her preparations for the concert held at the Hollywood Palladium, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

The star said she wants to show a more serious side than the bubbly blonde persona that made her famous in the late 1990s.

“At first, I developed this personality as armor or a shield,” she told Reuters from her Beverly Hills home. “I had gone through so much trauma in my life, then I had my first reality show with ‘The Simple Life’ and I played that character endlessly—you know, I didn’t realize I would have to do that for five seasons—and then the whole world came to know me that way,” she added.

Although Paris Hilton admitted that her more playful personality will always be part of her, this time she wants to present a more mature side. This includes her campaign for stricter federal oversight of youth care programs.

Hilton, the great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton, spoke about the emotional and physical abuse she endured when she was placed in residential youth treatment centers as a teenager. She has also worked with Democratic politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of Congress, to promote the adoption of the Defiance Act, which would improve the rights of those affected by deepfake pornography.

“I knew I had to stand up and use my voice,” Hilton said, emphasizing how her campaigns have contributed to 15 state laws and two federal bills in the United States.

Activism has been “the most meaningful work of my life,” Hilton added.
