Kevin Spacey to face another legal battle
American actor Kevin Spacey will face another legal battle next year in the United Kingdom, this time in civil court for allegations of sexual abuse, after having been acquitted in criminal court.
Three men have filed a lawsuit against the 66-year-old star at London’s High Court for incidents allegedly occurring between 2004 and 2015, when the Oscar winner was artistic director of the renowned Old Vic theatre in the British capital, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Two of the plaintiffs in the new civil case had also been involved in the criminal proceedings from which Spacey emerged without consequences in 2023.
The star of films like American Beauty and TV series such as House of Cards has always proclaimed his innocence regarding all accusations of abuse or harassment, admitting only to some reckless or inappropriate behaviour with younger actors, extras, aspiring performers, or other figures he encountered at parties and industry events.
Spacey’s artistic career was dramatically damaged by the series of legal issues he faced in the UK and the US amid the MeToo movement. Despite his courtroom victories, he has not yet been welcomed back in Hollywood. During a preliminary hearing, Judge Christina Lambert tentatively scheduled October 2026 for the High Court trial.
