Türkiye’s Deha wins International Emmy Awards
The 53rd International Emmy Awards—presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for productions made outside the United States—found their winners in New York.
Deha, produced by Ay Yapım and aired on Show TV, earned Turkiye an important achievement in its category, competing against productions from Brazil and Spain, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
The series team—including actor Aras Bulut İynemli, producer Kerem Çatay, director Umut Aral, and screenwriter Damla Serim—answered questions from an AA correspondent after receiving the award.
One of the lead actors, Aras Bulut İynemli, said he did not expect to get this excited, adding:
“It’s the work of a huge team, and actually we came here with a very small group. I always say it—this is the work of a very big team. We are here on behalf of all our teammates. Thank you very much, I’m very excited.”
Director Umut Aral, describing the feeling of being in New York representing Turkiye among dozens of countries, said that winning this award was “a feeling that cannot be described,” and that they accepted it on behalf of everyone who contributed to the series.
Screenwriter Damla Serim, who drew attention with both the story and production of the series, said it was a wonderful feeling to be there:
“Thank you, it is very beautiful and a great honor.”
The production team showcased Deha’s global success journey in New York, once again demonstrating Turkiye’s achievements in the international television industry.
Show TV’s series Deha is a gripping family drama with psychological thriller elements, telling the story of Devran—a young man with extraordinary mathematical talent—torn between dreams of building a bright future and the pressure of his father, who tries to keep him under his dark influence.
