The statue of Princess Diana, the first wife of the current King Charles III of England, has made its entrance at the Paris wax museum, the Musée Grévin, wearing a replica of her famous “Revenge dress,” the black “dress of vengeance” that Lady D wore one evening in June 1994, after Prince Charles confessed to his marital infidelity, CE Report quotes ANSA.

“This bold look, in contrast with the codes of the British crown, was quickly nicknamed the ‘Revenge Dress’ and interpreted as an act of self-reclamation — a powerful image of asserted femininity, newfound confidence, and a symbol of resilience,” the Musée Grévin notes, referring to the low-cut black dress designed by Christina Stambolian.

The wax statue of Lady D, who tragically died at the age of 36 in a car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997, has been placed beneath the museum’s dome, alongside figures such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Marie Antoinette, Chantal Thomass, Aya Nakamura, and Léna Situations.

The unveiling coincides with the 30th anniversary of the explosive interview that Lady D gave to the BBC on November 20, 1995, when she said, “there were three of us in this marriage.” A reference to Charles’s lover, Camilla, who would later become his second wife.
