Eight new films—from comedy and drama to horror, thriller, and action—will hit movie theaters this week.

Directed by Lotfy Nathan, The Son stars Nicolas Cage, Noah Jupe, and FKA Twigs, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

The UK–France co-production tells a dark story of a family hiding in a remote village in Roman-era Egypt. Cage portrays the character Joseph in the film.

“Wicked”

The American musical fantasy Wicked, directed by Jon M. Chu, will meet audiences this week. Starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey, the film explores how a demonized witch and a symbol of goodness rediscover their past friendship as chaos spreads across the Land of Oz.

“What Remains of You”

Directed by Cherien Dabis, What Remains of You brings a drama story to the big screen. The Germany–Palestine–Greek Cypriot Administration–Jordan–Greece co-production stars Dabis alongside Saleh Bakri and Maria Zreik.

“Keeper”

Tatiana Maslany, Rossif Sutherland, and Tess Degenstein star in Keeper, directed by Osgood Perkins. The film centers on a couple celebrating their anniversary at a cabin, where they confront a dark presence.

“At Dawn’s First Light”

Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, Ayla Algan, Erol Babaoğlu, Suzan Kardeş, Dilan Düzgüner, and Gürkan Gedikli star in Gürcan Keltek’s new film At Dawn’s First Light, offering a look at Istanbul through the mind of a young man.

“The Running Man”

Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, and Michael Cera headline The Running Man, directed by Edgar Wright. Adapted from Stephen King’s novel, the action-adventure sci-fi film follows a man who enters a TV show where contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by killers in hopes of earning the money he desperately needs.

“The Jinn’s Grave”

Directed by Yücel Kaplan, the local horror film The Jinn’s Grave focuses on a man who buys a village house his mother always dreamed of, only to face mysterious and frightening events afterward.

“A Poet”

Colombian director TuSimon Mesa Soto’s A Poet shines a light on the life of a quiet poet emerging from the streets of Medellín. The film follows an aging poet wrestling with his past and the expectations that come with being a poet, framed through the character Oscar Restrepo.
