Victoria Beckham opens up in new Netflix documentary
Victoria Beckham is ready to tell her story — not her husband David’s — in a new three-part Netflix documentary releasing, according to the BBC.
The 51-year-old former Spice Girl and fashion entrepreneur opens up about her past struggles with an eating disorder, which she says made her “very good at lying,” and how relentless public criticism of her body and weight affected her from a young age, especially after joining the Spice Girls in 1994, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Victoria says she often felt insecure, but the support of her bandmates helped her feel “enough.” She’s now trying to pass that message of self-acceptance on to her 14-year-old daughter, Harper: “You are who you are.”
The documentary also reveals the financial difficulties of her fashion brand, including a time when she was “millions in the red” and feared losing everything. David stepped in to help, and she later made a strong comeback — culminating in her successful show at Paris Fashion Week 2024, opened by Gigi Hadid.
Today, Victoria Beckham Ltd has offices in London and New York and products in 230 stores across 50 countries.
Family life is also briefly covered, including their eldest son Brooklyn, though no mention is made of rumored tensions with his wife.
Victoria explains her signature serious expression in public as a way to protect herself in front of cameras.
The documentary includes lighthearted moments too — such as David turning on the blender to avoid hearing Victoria talk — and her candid admission that she never dreamed of marriage or motherhood until she met him.
In the final episode, the couple reflects on their journey and the future. When David jokes about having another child, Victoria laughs and replies: “Another baby? Oh my God. No.”
