EasyJet France cabin crew files strike notice

Trade unions have filed a strike notice covering all cabin crew of easyJet France for the period from August 7 to September 2, citing deteriorating working conditions. This was announced in a union statement published today and cited by Reuters.

The unions said the specific dates of the strike action will be announced 48 hours in advance, but stressed they remain open to negotiations. If management responds positively, they are prepared to withdraw the strike notice altogether, CE Report quotes BTA.

“For nearly a year, the unions have been warning easyJet management about the continuous deterioration of cabin crew working conditions—chronic schedule instability, last-minute changes, imposed travel arrangements, particularly demanding rotations, and a complete lack of protective measures,” the unions said.

An easyJet spokesperson said the company was disappointed by the planned strike, “despite the changes we have proposed to address their concerns. As negotiations are already scheduled for September, we urge the unions to cancel this counterproductive action during such an important period of the year for our customers.”
