
World Theatre Festival to be held in Zagreb
The World Theatre Festival, taking place from 13 to 27 September in its 22nd edition, will bring to Zagreb’s stages a selection of relevant productions from the contemporary European scene and the festival will open with "Lacrima" directed by Caroline Guiela Nguyen, CE Report quotes HINA.
A production by the Théâtre National de Strasbourg, the play arrives in Zagreb following performances in Avignon, Paris, Munich, Lausanne, London, Vienna, Tokyo, and Montreal, Ivica Buljan, who is, together with Dubravka Vrgoč, the artistic director of the festival, said this on Monday at a press conference in Zagreb.
The production will be performed on 13 and 14 September at the Zagreb Youth Theatre as the central event of the festival.
Following that, on 20 September at the Gavella City Drama Theatre, the play "Sans Tambour" will be staged, in which director Samuel Achache combines Schumann’s music, architecture, and the fragmentation of identity.
Scheduled for 23 September at the Kerempuh Satirical Theatre is the play "Héritage" by Belgian author Cédric Eeckhout, who, together with his mother Jo Libertiaux, uses humour, emotion, and tenderness to reconstruct the unspoken aspects of their relationship and family history on stage.
Pippo Delbono, a frequent guest of the World Theatre Festival, is returning with his production "Il Risveglio", which will be performed on 27 September at the Gavella City Drama Theatre.
