New Giza Spectacle Backed by CIB and Naguib Sawiris
The Commercial International Bank (CIB) has approved a medium-term loan of 963 million Egyptian pounds for a company owned by Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris, to finance the creation and development of new sound and light shows between the Pyramids and the Sphinx of Giza, CE Report quotes ANSA.
According to Egypt Independent, the funding will cover the cost of equipment, machinery, and civil works required for the project.
The loan is allocated to OSL Entertainment Projects, a subsidiary of Orascom Investment Group, which is overseeing the development with the goal of transforming the site into a world-class cultural and entertainment destination.
Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of Orascom Investment Holding, personally announced the project on his official X account (formerly Twitter), stating:
“A new sound and light show, worthy of Egypt’s grandeur, will soon be presented at the Pyramids archaeological site.”
Sawiris made this statement after attending one of the existing light and sound shows already held periodically at the historic location.
Currently, the shows are scheduled to continue until Sunday, July 20, with one performance per day at 8:30 PM in English.
