Apollonia Festival Targets New Young Audience

Culture

The Apollonia Festival aims to attract a fresh generation of young people unfamiliar with the event, said Margarita Dimitrova, Executive Director of the Apollonia Foundation, at the festival’s 41st edition presentation in Sofia, CE Report quotes BTA

Dimitrova emphasized the importance of inviting artists from younger generations to naturally connect with new audiences. This year’s program features collaborations with the National Academy of Arts, National Music Academy, and National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, including student exhibitions, performances, and masterclasses.

Highlights include the NMA Big Band concert on August 29, a student-directed staging of Twelve Angry Men by NATFA, and masterclasses by Svetlin Roussev and the band Fondatsiata. The Apollonia Concertmasters Orchestra will reunite for a performance on September 2.

Running from August 28 to September 6 in Sozopol, the festival will host over 70 events covering music, theatre, literature, film, and visual arts, including exhibitions and literary evenings featuring prominent Bulgarian writers like Georgi Gospodinov.
