“Queen Kelly” (1929), the unfinished masterpiece by Erich von Stroheim, produced by and starring Gloria Swanson, will be the opening night film of the Pre-opening Evening at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The screening will take place on Tuesday, August 26, at the Sala Darsena of the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido.

The film will be presented in a world premiere in a newly restored version using recently recovered materials.

In 1985, Dennis Doros (Milestone Film & Video) created a "reconstruction" of Queen Kelly in 35mm, which was presented in Venice.

Forty years later, he has returned to the film and created a completely new reinterpretation.
