The Albanian community in the United States continues to keep Albanian tradition and culture alive through various festive events.

One such event was the “Byrek Festival,” organized for the second consecutive year by the Albanian community in Illinois-Chicago, USA, CE Report quotes ATA.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage from this fair, where the culinary art from different Albanian regions was showcased.

“The ‘Byrek Festival,’ a beautiful tradition of the Albanian community in Illinois-Chicago, USA, returns for the second consecutive year, where hundreds of fellow Albanians participate in this mini-fair and bring byrek prepared with recipes from all regions of Albania, preserving and passing down the art of Albanian cuisine across generations all the way to the distant continent,” Rama said.

At the fair held in Illinois, Albanian homemakers presented various types of byrek, preserving the tradition of Albanian cuisine.

One of the challenges faced by the Albanian community in the United States is maintaining their language, culture, and traditions. Therefore, the community strives through various events to preserve tradition and culture and pass it on to the younger generations.
