Hidden in Paradise (Skrito v raju), a hugely popular drama serial, was the most watched content made for Slovenian TV audiences last year.

The premiere of the Pro Plus serial attracted 352,000+ viewers, the highest number since the collective audiovisual works rights organisation AIPA started presenting awards for most watched AV works in 2021, CE Report quotes The Slovenia Times.

The series follows the romantic and dramatic events unfolding in and around an Istrian campsite. It focuses on the love story of medical student Mark and environmentalist Lara while exploring the theme of corruption in healthcare.

Its second 75-episode season is presently coming to a close but a new season is not planned despite its huge popularity. The meet-and-greet events for the series have attracted unprecedented crowds of fans for a home-grown show.

The series received the top of the seven Orion Stars as AIPA presented its awards for AV content based on viewership at a ceremony in Ljubljana.

The series received the top of the seven Orion Stars as AIPA presented its awards for AV content based on viewership at a ceremony in Ljubljana on 28 May.

Coming second was the comedy series Ja, Chef! (Yes, Chef!), also produced by Pro Plus, the Czech-owned media company running the most popular TV channels POP TV and Kanal A and the 24ur.com new site.

The public broadcaster RTV Slovenija produced four of the other five most watched works, including the documentary about the iconic radio comedy show Radio Ga Ga, which came in third, and the documentary about basketball player Peter Vilfan called Črni Peter (Black Peter), which placed fourth.

A jury also presented three equal Brightest Orion Star awards for acting. Those went to Matija Vastl for the lead role in the mini-series Življenje Tomaža Kajzerja (The Life of Tomaž Kajzer), Vlado Novak for Dedek gre na jug (Grandpa Goes South) and Vesna Pernarčič for her role in the top Orion winner Hidden in Paradise.
