Metallica announce their return to Italy
Save the date: Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna, for the only Italian stop of Metallica’s M72 World Tour. This unmissable event will also feature Gojira and Knocked Loose as opening acts on the same stage, CE Report quotes ANSA.
After achieving record-breaking numbers during 2023–2024, with four million fans worldwide, Metallica’s global tour is set to return to Europe in 2026, with 16 new dates, including the highly anticipated show in Bologna. It’s a unique opportunity to experience live the songs that shaped the band’s and metal’s history, along with tracks from “72 Seasons”, their latest album released in April 2023.

The 2026 tour will continue with the No Repeat Weekends format: two shows in the same city, each with completely different setlists and opening acts. Among the most anticipated European stops: Frankfurt, Dublin, Budapest, and London. In addition to these double dates, the tour will hit other major cities with a single special concert – all featuring Metallica’s iconic 360° center-stage “in-the-round” setup – including Athens, Bucharest, Zurich, Berlin, Glasgow, Cardiff, and Bologna.
Critically acclaimed, the M72 World Tour has been called:
“An absolutely overwhelming experience” by Billboard, “Unquestionably epic” by Metal Hammer, and “Triumphant” by Kerrang!
As always, a portion of ticket sales will be donated to support local charities through Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, founded in 2017. The foundation has already raised over $20 million for food insecurity, technical education, and emergency relief programs around the world.
