Web Report Honors Clean Journalism

Culture

At the eighth Web Report Clean Journalism Awards, Dir.bg COO Ivan Braykov emphasized the power of ethical journalism, stating that "pure journalism does not scream, it is heard" and cannot be bought. He praised the award-winning stories as a reflection of modern Bulgarian journalism—revealing abuse, corruption, and human perseverance, CE Report quotes BTA

Winners included Milena Kirova (BNT) for a report on vote manipulation, Yoan Zapryanov (Capital) for an investigation into crypto fraud, and Georgi Angelov (Free Europe) for exposing a disinformation network. Other awards went to journalists from Nova TV, OFFNews, and bTV, among others.

Braykov concluded that the competition brings together journalists not just as competitors, but as allies in the pursuit of truth.
