Croatia opens 3.3 million euros funding call to support Croats Abroad

The Central State Office for Croats Abroad has invited non-profit organisations of Croats living outside Croatia to submit applications outlining their specific needs and projects of interest to Croats abroad under a €3.3 million public funding call, with financial support available this year.

The Office is prepared to allocate the same amount as last year — €3.3 million — to non-profit organisations, including associations, foundations, institutions, religious communities and other legal entities in Croatia and abroad, as well as individuals and vulnerable members of the Croatian community living outside the country, CE Report quotes HINA.

The funding will support projects aimed at strengthening links and cooperation with Croats abroad, preserving and strengthening national identity, protecting the rights and interests of Croatian communities, preserving the Croatian language, and promoting cultural creativity and heritage. Support will also be provided for cultural, educational, scientific, sports and economic cooperation with Croatia and among Croatian communities abroad.

Applicants seeking support for projects providing social, development and humanitarian assistance to vulnerable individuals and Croatian communities abroad may also receive funding from the Office and the Croatian state.

The minimum amount that can be requested and contracted per project is €800, while the maximum is €30,000.

The minimum one-time financial assistance available to vulnerable individuals of Croatian origin living outside Croatia in difficult social, material or health circumstances is €300, while the maximum is €3,500. Each applicant may submit a maximum of two applications under the public call.

Applications may be submitted over the next month, until October 7, 2026, inclusive. Full details on the application procedure and required documentation are available in the public call published on the website of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.
