Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia Timcho Mucunski paid a working visit to Warsaw, upon the invitation of his Polish counterpart, Radosław Sikorski.

At the meeting with his host, Minister Mucunski expressed satisfaction with the high degree of development of North Macedonian-Polish relations, as well as the friendship and shared values the two countries have been nurturing for more than three decades.

This, he stressed, represents a solid basis for continued growth and promotion of overall cooperation, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia's official website.

Both ministers agreed that significant focus will be placed in the coming period on enhancing economic cooperation, boosting trade and attracting new Polish investments in the country.

Minister Mucunski thanked his counterpart for the continued Polish support on North Macedonia EU path. He stressed that Poland is one of the most consistent and vocal supporters of the European Union’s enlargement policy, noting the country’s active engagement across several formats, including the Visegrad Group, “Friends of Enlargment”, and the Weimar Triangle.

The two ministers also discussed the excellent cooperation between the two countries within NATO, as well as current regional and global security issues.

At a joint press conference, Minister Mucunski noted that the partnership between the two countries is the result of over three decades of trust, cooperation, and shared vision.

“Today we affirmed that partnerships and laid the foundation for its further enhancement – especially in the economy and trade as the key pillars of our relations,” Mucunski said.

As part of his visit to Warsaw, Minister Mucunski also met with Agnieszka Pomaska, Chair of the European Union Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm, discussing the country’s Euro-integration process, as well as the importance of parliamentary cooperation in promoting bilateral relations.
