Supporting Polish communities abroad, developing cooperation with the younger generation of Poles living overseas, and initiatives encouraging studying, working, and returning to Poland were the main topics of the meeting of the International Team for Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad.

The session was chaired by Secretary of State Władysław Bartoszewski, with participation from representatives of the government administration and the Polish Senate, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

During the meeting, the action plan for 2026 was discussed. Participants presented measures to strengthen Polish communities outside Poland, with particular focus on cooperation with the younger generation of the diaspora.

The importance of dialogue with Polish diaspora organizations and the need to better understand the expectations of young Poles living abroad were emphasized. All initiatives are also intended to help build a positive image of Poland as an economically attractive, friendly, and safe country to live in.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the launch of a program of study visits to Poland for young representatives of the Polish diaspora and Poles living abroad.

The ministry also plans to further support academic and media communities, including the establishment of a “Best Polish Diaspora Student” award and the development of postgraduate studies for Polish diaspora journalists at University of Warsaw. The project Poland. Business Adventure — a professional internship program for young representatives of Polish communities abroad — will also continue.

The team also discussed initiatives supporting the return of Poles from emigration and the development of Polish language education abroad. It was emphasized that cooperation among state institutions in this area is part of implementing the Government Strategy for 2026–2030, adopted by the Council of Ministers, which aims to strengthen relations with the Polish diaspora and create incentives for the younger generation to study, work, and settle in Poland.
