Poland reviews airspace incident after Russian strike - EXCLUSIVE
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has assessed its cooperation and operational information exchange with Ukraine during recent Russian Federation air and missile strikes against targets in Ukraine as highly effective.
This was said by the source in the Ministry of National Defence of Poland in an exclusive interview with CE Report.
According to the source, the coordination of national and Allied forces operating in Polish airspace was conducted without disruption throughout the incident. During the Russian attack against targets in western Ukraine, NATO supported Poland with designated capabilities, contributing to enhanced situational awareness and the protection of Allied airspace.
The source emphasized that the Polish Air Defence System operated correctly and in full accordance with established procedures. All required measures were activated and properly coordinated, while the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces employed the necessary forces and assets under its authority. The presence of an airborne object in Polish airspace was detected, prompting the immediate initiation of response measures.
The Operational Command continues to closely monitor the security situation, with assigned forces and assets remaining at a high level of readiness and prepared to respond immediately to any potential threat.
The source added that the incident will be subject to a comprehensive operational assessment. Any conclusions that could improve the effectiveness of future operations, enhance command-and-control procedures, or strengthen the integrated air and missile defence system will be implemented following the assessment process.
