The agricultural blockades in Greece's Macedonia will keep roads open during Epiphany, with farmers and livestock breeders planning to escalate their mobilisations on Thursday and Friday, following the decisions taken during their nationwide meeting in Nea Malgara, west of Thessaloniki.

Pending developments, the blockade at the Nea Malgara toll station will be open on Monday and Tuesday, with farmers and livestock farmers planning a "48-hour blackout" on Thursday and Friday, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

From 19:00 to 23:00 on Monday night, the blockade at the Evzones customs office, the main border crossing between Greece and North Macedonia, will be closed to trucks, while on Tuesday the passage of all vehicles will be allowed. In view of the escalation of the farmers' mobilisations on Thursday and Friday, it is not ruled out that those gathered at neighbouring blockades will take their tractors to Evzones. The farmers are currently holding a general assembly at the Promachonas customs office.

At the Niki customs office, which serves transits to North Macedonia, the gathered farmers and livestock breeders have blocked the road for trucks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

At the Exohi border crossing, on the border with Bulgaria, where the blockade has been closed since 12 noon on Friday, the gathered farmers and livestock breeders will open the border after the afternoon, probably around 19:00 and will keep it open for Epiphany.
