The Milan prosecutor’s office requested a prison sentence of one year and eight months for the famous influencer Chiara Ferragni, who is on trial for fraud related to promoting sweets for charitable purposes, according to her lawyer.

Chiara Ferragni is Italy’s most popular influencer, with 28 million followers, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

She has been on trial since September for aggravated fraud after advertising a pandoro cake—a Christmas sweet similar to panettone—and Easter eggs, claiming that their purchase would raise money for charitable or social causes.

During closed-door hearing at the Milan court, the 38-year-old Ferragni stated that she denies the charges and acted “in good faith,” her lawyer Giuseppe Gianacone said.
