Fuel Prices Hit New Lows in Moldova

Business

Fuel prices in Moldova continue to decline, with diesel reaching a historic low of 18.40 lei per liter — a level last seen in January 2022, before the war in Ukraine and the European energy crisis, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Since the beginning of the year, petrol (COR 95) has dropped by 2.56 lei per liter, while diesel is down by 3.31 lei.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) attributes the price drop to lower global oil prices and the weakening of the US dollar against the Moldovan leu. ANRE emphasized that the pricing system ensures local prices reflect international trends, providing consumers with fair market-aligned rates.

For the next four days, ANRE set the maximum petrol price at 22.23 lei (down 0.08 lei), and diesel at 18.40 lei (down 0.07 lei).
