Real wages in Italy are currently 8.7 points lower than in 2008, the ILO said in its latest Global Wage Report.

ILO's Giulia de Lazzari said this was the biggest loss in real wages in this period of all the G20 countries, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The United Nations labour agency said the real wage growth that took place in 2024 was not sufficient to compensate for the losses sustained during the period of high inflation of recent years.
