Sofia Transport Strike Ends
The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) announced the end of a six-day blockade of Sofia's surface public transport. Operations will resume on Tuesday, CE Report quotes BTA
The decision followed a government allocation of BGN 15 million, meeting protesters' demands for a BGN 300 wage increase for public transport workers. In a livestream, CITUB Transport Federation President Alexander Shopov and demonstrators began dismantling the blockade at the Banishora depot.
CITUB Vice President Todor Kapitanov confirmed the funding was sufficient, while Shopov noted some time is needed to restart services.
