PM Zhelyazkov Meets World Bank VP

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov met with Antonella Bassani, Vice President for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank, to discuss Bulgaria’s economic priorities and cooperation with the institution. Zhelyazkov emphasized fiscal stability and tackling the informal economy as key government goals, vital for euro area accession. He affirmed Bulgaria has met the eurozone criteria and awaits the European Commission and ECB's convergence reports, CE Report quotes BTA

The Prime Minister praised the Country Partnership Framework for FY25–FY29, seeing it as a foundation for deepened collaboration. The meeting also highlighted Sofia’s important role as host of the World Bank’s Shared Services Center.

Earlier the same day, the Bulgarian government signed two World Bank agreements to support education and business development in Northern Bulgaria.
