Ukraine says intercepted call reveals Russian commanders ordering killings

War in Ukraine

Ukrainian intelligence officers have intercepted a conversation indicating systematic killings of Russian servicemen by their own commanders.

The corresponding audio recording was released by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

In the intercepted conversation, a Russian soldier is accused of treason without trial or investigation and is ordered to be eliminated.

"Shurik, I'm telling you, eliminate the man. If you let him go, you'll most likely get hit right away and your position will be destroyed. The man is no longer working with us," the invading commander says.

When those on the ground hesitate to carry out the order, he sharply increases the pressure.

"Didn't you understand the order? Do you want to screw up so many positions and the guys next to you because of one d'Artagnan?" the leader shouts.
