Albania downplays US Embassy security alert regarding Iran
Media and Information Agency (MIA) affiliated to the Albanian government, reacted to the security alert of the United States Embassy in Tirana, according to which, “Groups associated with Iran may seek to target entities associated with the U.S. or Iranian opposition elements in Albania. They may also target common venues, such as tourist sites, shopping malls, hotels, clubs, and restaurants.”
In its reaction, MIA stated that the relevant Albanian security and law enforcement bodies have no worrying intelligence report to confirm this assumption of the American embassy, CE Report quotes ATA.
“The US Embassy regularly issues such alerts, even when Albanian opposition supporters go on protest, burn garbage cans or throw Molotov cocktails to appear in photographs of the foreign newspapers. But, the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Albania do not have any worrying intelligence regarding this assumption of the American embassy,” MIA stated in its reaction.
“So, we invite American citizens not to miss the chance to explore Albania. With its stunning scenery and welcoming culture and authentic cuisine,” MIA’s reaction reads.
