As of 1 April 2026, the new minimum wage enters into force in Greece, increasing to 920 euros and marking a cumulative rise of 41.54% compared to 2019.

Specifically, as of 1 April, the minimum wage is raised by 4.55% and is structured as follows:

For full-time employees, it increases by 40 euros, from 880 to 920 euros.

The daily wage for manual workers rises from 39.30 to 41.09, while public sector salary scales increase by 40 euros, following the horizontal increase of 70 euros in 2024 and 30 euros in 2025, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Greece, since 2019, the cumulative increase amounts to approximately 270 euros per month or 3,780 euros annually - equivalent to an additional 4.2 to 5.8 monthly salaries - representing a total increase of 41.54% over the period.

The increase in the minimum wage and daily wage directly affects approximately 700,000 private-sector jobs, all public-sector employees, and beneficiaries of allowances and benefits calculated on the basis of the minimum wage (such as maternity, parental leave and unemployment benefits), as well as seniority increments. It also has an indirect impact on the average wage.

As announced, the objective is to provide meaningful support to households' disposable income, within the limits of economic resilience and fiscal capacity.
