Bosnia's Mostar hosts third Herzegovina Wine Route Festival
FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism Nasiha Pozder attended the third Herzegovina Wine Route Festival in Mostar, which brought together 23 renowned wineries, restaurants, and numerous wine and gastronomy enthusiasts from Bosnia and Herzegovina and across the region.
On the occasion, Minister Pozder emphasized the importance of events that enrich the tourism offering, contribute to the development of the local economy, and extend the tourist season, particularly in Herzegovina, which is increasingly building a recognizable identity as a wine and gastronomy destination, CE Report informs via the FBiH Ministry of Environment and Tourism's official website.
“Events such as the Herzegovina Wine Route Festival are important in many ways – they not only enrich the tourism offer but also create additional reasons for visitors to come, connect local producers, hospitality businesses, and tourism operators, and contribute to extending the tourist season. Herzegovina has exceptional wine potential that we need to promote strongly, as domestic wines are becoming a distinctive tourism and economic brand of our country,” Minister Pozder said.
The festival once again confirmed the significance of the Herzegovina Wine Route as a recognizable wine, gastronomy, and tourism brand that successfully links local wines, gastronomy, and tourism, while also contributing to the international promotion of Herzegovina and the overall tourism offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism has recognized the importance of this event and its contribution to the development of sustainable tourism. For this reason, the festival was supported last year through a public call with funding exceeding BAM 22,000.
The Herzegovina Wine Route Festival, a project led by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the cities and municipalities of Ljubuški, Čitluk, Mostar, Čapljina, Stolac, and Trebinje, represents a cultural route that brings together centuries-old wine production traditions in Herzegovina, creating a unique blend of tourism, culture, gastronomy, and local identity.
