Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nasiha Pozder met in Sarajevo with Croatian Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina.

The meeting followed the promotion of the regional tourism magazine “Like,” a joint project of the media outlets Jutarnji list (Croatia), Delo (Slovenia), Blic (Serbia), and Oslobođenje (Bosnia and Herzegovina), CE Report informs via the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Bosnia and Herzegovina's official website.

During the talks with Minister Glavina, Minister Pozder addressed current issues in the tourism sector, with particular emphasis on the legislative framework. She noted that Croatia has high-quality solutions in place, but that in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina it is necessary to speed up the adoption of similar regulations, as the line ministry has already completed its part of the work and is awaiting opinions from other institutions.

Minister Glavina highlighted the good cooperation between the two countries, noting that tourists visiting Croatia are also keen to explore destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Pozder additionally stressed the need to improve railway transport, particularly the Una railway line as a link between the two countries, as well as to address the real challenges faced by tourists and citizens due to border congestion during the tourist season.

At the magazine promotion event, in addition to the ministers, speakers included Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Predrag Puharić, Editor-in-Chief of Oslobođenje Vildana Selimbegović, Editor-in-Chief of Jutarnji list Goran Ogurlić, and Director of Delo Dejan Novaković.

“Our destinations are compatible in terms of language, culture, gastronomy, and tradition, so I believe we will have even more joint projects in tourism promotion in the future. The magazine ‘Like’ is an excellent example of how barriers can be overcome in the interest of strengthening sustainable tourism. I am also pleased for our Oslobođenje, its reputation, and its ambition to remain an important media voice. Over the past few years, our ministry has been implementing a program to support tourism promotion through media and organizations, and I believe that this year we will once again have partners to ensure that our tourism continues to achieve good results, remains resilient, and maintains sustainable growth,” Minister Pozder said, according to a statement from the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
